NEXT NESEA RI Meeting - New Ecology at Roots Café – Tues., Dec. 6

NESEA RI – New Ecology at Roots Café – Tues., Dec. 13

Getting ready to make your New Year’s resolution?  For some green inspiration, join us for an evening with New Ecology President Ed Connelly this Tuesday at Roots Café Arts and Cultural Center.  (That’s right. We will not be at Bravo for our December meeting.)

Specializing in community-based sustainability development, New Ecology is making waves by building exciting new web applications to help their clients reach their energy/environmental goals.  Specifically we’ll be focusing on:

Wegowise - an online tool for monitoring and analyzing the energy use of multifamily and single family housing.  Enter your basic utility info and then sit back and get ready for some mind-blowing, easy-to-read, monthly energy usage reports that let you compare your building’s energy consumption rates over time as well as to other buildings.

Buildingwell – a recently launched wiki for everything you always wanted to know about multi-family green building on a tight budget.  Much of the information also translates to the greening of almost any type of residential building including new construction, single-family and market rate units.

In addition, we’ll hear about Ed’s work history in Rhode Island including founding the social venture company CleanScape and working as acting director of the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation.

When:  Tuesday, December 13th at 6pm

Where: Roots Café (Downtown PVD) 276 Westminster Street; Providence, RI 02903  / 401-272-7422

Who:  New Ecology President Ed Connelly

Thoughts on an old rivalry

I recently attended the January 5th meeting featuring Paul Eldrenkamp. Being new to the group, I have been to three of these meetings and have been impressed by the sort of dialogue format and have left feeling like I learned something and that have much to learn. The gentleman with the colorful hat (I have only met a few NESEA members so far), in an informal introduction and invitation to potential members described how the group was all about bringing many diverse disciplines together- the… Continue
